About Lewy Body Dementia

In degenerative dementias, nerve cells die over time, causing a progressive decline in the ability to think, reason and remember. In Lewy body dementia (LBD), microscopic protein deposits (Lewy bodies) are found in the dying nerve cells. It is the second most common form of dementia after Alzheimer's disease.
