Symptoms
Kidney cancer today is most often diagnosed in its earlier stages, before a person exhibits symptoms such as:
- Gross hematuria (blood in the urine)
- Flank pain (in the midsection below the ribs)
- Palpable mass in the abdomen (a lump or mass that can be detected by touch)
If the kidney cancer has metastasized (spread) to other parts of the body, symptoms can also include:
- Dyspnea (trouble breathing) and cough
- Seizure and headache
- Bone pain
