Students Recognize Mayo Clinic as an Ideal Employer
U.S. college students have named Mayo Clinic an Ideal Employer for the ninth straight year, according to a Universum survey of nearly 66,000 undergraduates and 4,000 MBA students.
Universum annually surveys thousands of students at universities throughout the U.S. and 22 other countries to measure perceptions and opinions of the working world.
Recognition in Universum's surveys is not purchased or by application. Rather, student respondents identify which organizations they deem to be ideal.
In the 2013 survey, Mayo Clinic ranked as the No. 2 overall employer among natural science students. Additionally, Mayo ranked highly among other student cohorts, including liberal arts (No. 19), engineering (No. 51), MBA (No. 61), business (No. 66) and information technology (No. 68).
Survey data are gathered in three categories — undergraduate, diversity and MBA — to generate rankings and metrics that are used to help companies attract, recruit and retain top talent.
The information has become the industry standard for benchmarking the opinions of industry leaders of tomorrow and is recognized in Bloomberg Businessweek, FORTUNE and CNNMoney.com, The New York Times, and other leading business and collegiate media.
