Mayo Clinic places the highest priority on the safety of its patients, visitors and staff. To ensure the safest environment possible, Mayo Clinic conducts a pre-employment background check on all individuals who are offered employment or academic appointments.
These background checks are conducted to discover possible criminal history; determine if an individual has been sanctioned (penalized for not complying with a certain law) by a relevant federal agency; and assure that the applicant's claims are accurate and that he or she meets the qualifications for employment or academic appointment.
