Recreational opportunities in Rochester, Minnesota, and its surrounding areas are enhanced by Minnesota's four distinct seasons. The city has 3,500 acres of parks, more than 85 miles of paved trails for biking and hiking, and a staffed nature center.

Area residents enjoy easy access to groomed Nordic ski trails and multiple options for boating, fishing, hunting, kayaking and canoeing. Recreation options also include nine golf courses, several indoor tennis courts and an indoor climbing gym.

Local spectator sports include semiprofessional football, collegiate baseball, hockey and soccer.
