- Are current in basic life support for health care providers from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association (must have completed either within the last year)
Applications will be accepted from Oct. 15 through Jan. 15. The application process is electronic — to locate the job posting, visit the Jobs at Mayo Clinic page and select "Internships and Summer Opportunities" in the "Job Types" drop-down box.
You will be expected to provide these materials at the time you submit your application:
- Resume. Your resume should highlight your educational background, employment history and volunteer activities, such as involvement within your community and with committees, student nurse associations, and professional organizations.
- Transcript. It can be official or unofficial.
- Answers to essay questions. You will find several essay questions in the Summer III Nursing Externship job posting. Answer these questions in a Microsoft Word document, and attach the document to the online profile when you submit your application.
- Faculty reference form. Ask a clinical faculty member from your nursing school to complete the Faculty Clinical Reference form. Upon completion, he or she should save a copy of the completed form and email it to email@example.com. This form must be received before the Jan. 15 application deadline. Only one faculty reference will be accepted per applicant.
Any applications submitted without all of these required documents will be considered incomplete.
