The New Nursing Graduate Support program at Mayo Clinic was developed to assist each new graduate nurse in successfully preparing for and passing the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN); become licensed in the State of Arizona as a Registered Nurse; and transition from a new graduate to a fully competent, professional nurse.

Two full-time Nursing Educational Specialists (NESs) are dedicated to leading this program, through an educational design that reflects a comprehensive and innovative approach to learning. Other nursing colleagues within the organization also assist and support new nursing graduates throughout their journey.

The New Nursing Graduate Program can be a two-tier approach, starting either as a Nurse Technician II or New Graduate RN. Explore these two options and see which is most appropriate for you.

  • Nurse Technician II - Successful completion of nursing studies and graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • New Graduate RN - Successful completion of the NCLEX-RN and an RN license obtained by the State Board of Nursing.

Both Nurse Technician IIs and New Graduate RNs may apply to RN New Grad positions.

Two sessions of the New Graduate Support Program are offered in 2008, beginning on:

To begin the RN application process with the Arizona State Board of Nursing, visit www.AZBN.gov/applications.aspx, and select Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse Application by Examination.
