General Diagnostic Imaging

The general diagnostic section at Mayo Clinic uses the most up-to-date equipment to image our patients. Throughout our campus, technologists use elevator tables with wall bucky systems, along with computed radiography acquisition devices. As you walk into our exam rooms, you will notice a bright inviting atmosphere. Well-thought-out room design allows us to image our patients in an efficient, streamlined approach. This fast-paced environment works through an integrated team concept. Within this integrated team a large group of technologists work with one goal in mind, patient care.

Our technologists provide flexibility for shift coverage ranging from day to midnight shifts. We use a self-scheduling concept, which allows shift flexibility for each individual. No matter if you are a new employee or a veteran at Mayo, you are offered the same scheduling options.

Work rotations include clinic and hospital assignments, which support multiple medical specialties. Each day our technologists work closely with a variety of individuals creating a team environment. As a general diagnostic technologist at Mayo, you primarily perform the imaging part of exams while other staff perform other patient care duties. For example we have a large radiology nursing staff and we utilize hospital transporters.
