Infusion Therapy Service - Charlton L
The Infusion Therapy Service provides coverage 16 hours a day in the outpatient Infusion Therapy Center. Infusion Therapy Service nurses are specially educated in placement of peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC), accessing of intravascular access devices, assessment of surgically implanted central lines, and the care and maintenance of all central lines. They are also resources for education. The Infusion Therapy Center provides services related to infusion therapy such as IV medications, IM injections, blood administrations, PICC site care, and therapeutic phlebotomies.

IV/Transfusion Service - RMH and SMH Hospitals
The IV/Transfusion Service provides coverage 24 hours a day in the hospital inpatient settings at Rochester Methodist Hospital and Saint Marys Hospital. IV/Transfusion Service nurses perform routine and emergency blood transfusions and administrator anti-hemophiliac factor concentrates; assess patients for adverse transfusion reactions; and insert peripheral intravenous catheters. The IV/Transfusion Service nurses are specially educated in placement of peripherally inserted central catheters using ultrasound guidance, accessing of intravascular access devices, assessment of surgically implanted central lines, administration of thrombolytic agents for blocked central lines, and the care and maintenance of all central lines. They are resources for education.
