Professional Nurse Educators Group (PNEG), 36th Annual National Conference on Professional Nursing Education and Development (PDF) "Transforming Curricula and Lifelong Learning for Quality and Safety"
This annual conference of educators in nursing will celebrate its 36th anniversary in 2009. Although the organizational affiliation and sponsorship have changed over time, the overarching goal of excellence in all aspects of nursing education has remained focal. This premier conference provides a vital forum for professionals in academic, staff development and continuing education, and entrepreneurs and consultants who work in a wide and changing variety of settings. Participants gather to discuss pressing issues and concerns, share ideas, network with professional colleagues, and leave rejuvenated with specific action plans for their own work environments.

The environment for providing good healthcare is increasingly complex and challenging with quality and safety being foremost. Nursing education has the opportunityand some would saythe obligation, to transform the system of lifelong learning, including academic, staff development, and continuing education. What innovations can be implemented in the current environment? How might current lifelong learning be transformed to better incorporate quality and safety? How are learners supported in all levels of the professional development continuum? What are the desired outcomes of the education system? With whom should nursing partner to achieve the best outcomes?
