Processing/Distribution Tech

Processing/Distribution Tech

Responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, preparing, processing and distributing sterile and non-sterile medical supplies and equipment. Performs technical details according to written policies and procedures. Maintains expertise in all aspects of area activities. Monitors quality assurance and quality control activities and the physical environment. Participates in continuous improvement processes.

Linen Handler

Receives, stores, collects, distributes, tracks, and transports linen (sterile, clean and/or soiled) throughout the Medical Center in a safe and efficient manner. Operates equipment safely and correctly. Utilizes computer and hand held units for tracking of linen. Requires movement of heavy carts (up to 400 pounds) and operation of other mechanical equipment.

Surgical Linen Technician

Surgical Linen Technician

Receives, processes and provides quality surgical linen for patients and staff throughout the Medical Center in a safe and efficient manner. Interacts professionally with all patients, visitors, vendors and staff. Participates in continuous improvement process. On-the-job training is provided.

Lead Linen Handler

Receives, stores, collects, distributes, tracks, and transports linen (sterile, clean and/or soiled) throughout the Medical Center in a safe and efficient manner. Operates equipment safely and correctly. Assists supervisor in managing workflow. Monitors linen and other quality assurance and quality control requirements. Requires movement of heavy carts (up to 400 pounds) and operation of other mechanical equipment.

Sewing Machine Operator

Sewing Machine Operator

Must be able to manage and complete different sewing projects and be proficient in using a sewing machine. Must be flexible to respond to changing priorities and handle changing workflow. Receives, stores, collects, distributes, tracks, and transports linen (sterile, clean and/or soiled) throughout the Medical Center in a safe and efficient manner. On-the-job training is provided.

Linen Technician

Receives, processes and provides quality linen to patients and staff throughout the Medical Center in a safe and efficient manner. Interacts professionally with all patients, visitors, vendors and staff. Monitors linen and physical area for cleanliness and other quality assurance and quality control requirements.

Linen Transporter

Receives, stores, collects, distributes, tracks, and transports linen (sterile, clean and/or soiled throughout the Medical Center in a safe and efficient manner. Operates equipment safely and correctly. Monitors linen and physical area for cleanliness and other quality assurance and quality control requirements.

Required to pass DOT physical exam and Driving, Safety and Inspection Test. Responsible for completing linen collection and transportation in a timely manner.

Inventory Clerk

Inventory Clerk

Maintains an inventory status of supplies by ordering and restocking the supplies. Coordinates add/delete information paperwork for the Orders Communication System. Monitors new and rental equipment. Communicates effectively with supervisors and technicians.

Administrative Assistant

Anticipates and carries out independent actions necessary to provide professional secretarial support to meet the needs of directors, managers, supervisors and co-workers. Performs duties independently and uses judgment in handling questions, phone calls and appointments. Must be adaptable and flexible in a changing work environment, which requires continual upgrading of skills.

Assistant Supervisor

Assists the supervisor in the day-to-day operations under the guidelines set up by the Linen and Central Services (LCS) Director and adheres to Mayo policies. In collaboration with the supervisor adjusts staffing levels to workload. Assist with guiding, developing, disciplining, and maintaining a staff that provides quality products. Will maintain technical and clinical expertise in all areas and possess good communication and interpersonal skills.

Equipment/Linen Coordinator

Equipment/Linen Coordinator

Tracks usage trends for linen and equipment. Works collaboratively with customer departments to select/replace products while balancing patient needs, cost, standardization issues and institutional cultures and contracts. Utilizes continuous improvement methods to enhance the quality, availability, and standardization of linen and equipment. Will work with purchasing and various vendors to assure quality supplies are available and at a reasonable price. Reviews case management information to understand costs related to linen and equipment and subsequently works with customer departments to look for opportunities, which reduce expenses. Must be familiar with the standards: The Joint Commission, Infection Control, ERTKA, OSHA and other Mayo Clinic standards, which are considered when, determining purchases.

Supervisor

Supervises lead technicians, clerks and assigned staff. Responsible for workflow and functions related to the disinfecting, processing, sterilization and distribution of linen and sterile/non-sterile products maintained by the department. Assists the director in the development of and responsible for management of policies, procedures, quality assurance, education, continuous improvement and finances in compliance with standards outlined by Mayo Clinic and regulatory/governing organizations (The Joint Commission, OSHA, ERTKA, ADA, etc.).
