Linen and Central Services (LCS) provides a diverse range of services and products for Mayo Clinic. Nursing, clinical, surgical and specialty units such as Cardiac Catheter Lab, Obstetrics, Dermatology, Pediatrics, X-ray and many more, rely on LCS support for their daily linen, equipment and instrument needs. Providing critical equipment cleaning, decontamination, maintenance and delivery support for Saint Marys and Methodist Hospitals as well as Mayo Clinic is all in a day's work for LCS!

Our sterilization facilities, steam, ethylene oxide, and sterrad equipment provide sterile surgical linens, instruments, other linen and equipment that are critical to patient treatment and care.

Every day hundreds of different items are processed, coordinated and distributed for use throughout Mayo Clinic. Last year Linen and Central Services processed:

• 13.6 million pounds of linen and 4.7 million pieces of surgical linen and ran 11,467 sterilization cycles.
• Made 105,092 linen distributions and 95,855 central services deliveries.
