Islet Cell Cancer

Overview

Islet cells are found in the area of the pancreas that produces hormones such as insulin. Islet cell tumors, also called endocrine or neuroendocrine tumors, may be cancerous (malignant) or noncancerous (benign). Islet cell cancer is rare.
