Intraoperative Radiation Therapy (IORT)

Treatment in Minnesota

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota has a dedicated linear accelerator placed in a special lead-lined operating room to deliver intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT). Mayo Clinic's IORT program has been treating people for decades. Each year, specialists treat more than 60 people who have IORT at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.

Treatment team

Specialists from the Departments of Radiation Oncology, Colon and Rectal Surgery, Gastroenterologic and General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Gynecologic Surgery and Plastic Surgery may be involved in providing IORT.

Appointments

For appointments or more information, call the Central Appointment Office at 507-538-3270 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Central time, Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday or complete an online appointment request form.
