Application

Eligibility

Mayo Clinic seeks diverse candidates from undergraduate and graduate programs across the country. Qualified candidates should be self-motivated, creative, and enrolled in an undergraduate or master's program in one of these fields of study:

  • Exercise science
  • Health and wellness promotion
  • Other related majors

Students should have completed all course work except their internship, or have one semester left following their internship. Experience with fitness testing and program development is preferred. Undergraduate applicants are given priority over graduate applicants.

Application

Timeline
Three internships are offered each semester. Applications received between the following dates will be considered for one of the internships.

Spring Internship
August 15 — October 15

Summer Internship
January 15 — March 15

Fall Internship
April 15 — June 15

Please visit our Internships and Summer Opportunities Web page for available internship positions. If this internship is not available, you may click "Email jobs to me." You will then be notified via email when future internship positions become available.

During the online application process you'll be asked to attach:

  1. Resume
  2. Cover letter (Describe your career objectives and list pertinent experiences you've had Also include semester and year you're applying for and hours required for internship.)
  3. Letter of reference from faculty adviser
  4. Transcripts from all colleges attended (Photocopies are acceptable.)

The applicant is responsible for ensuring that all application materials are complete and are received by Mayo Clinic on or before the deadline for each internship period. The selection committee will not review incomplete applications.
