Interested in learning the ins and outs of online content production, working for a Web site that has set the gold standard in consumer-health publishing and getting paid for it? MayoClinic.com is looking for one or two ambitious, deadline-driven interns to join our award-winning product development team.

This isn't just any internship program. We've designed a program with an eye toward developing future talent. We see this as a two-way opportunity. Interns on the MayoClinic.com Product Development team will walk away with real-life Web publishing experience. And we gain valuable insights into your developing skills and interests, which may fit into our future hiring plans.

Responsibilities

The successful intern reports to one supervising mentor who coordinates training, supervision and evaluation of the intern's work performance. Internship duties are largely project-based, and may include a mix of responsibilities, including:

• Researching and writing Web content intended for publication, including longer- and shorter-term assignments.
• Production of short health tips, writing feature titles for existing content pieces, optimizing content for search engine placement.
• The intern is responsible for demonstrating the desire to learn the functions and processes of the work unit through observation and training. The intern will be expected to apply this training to selected work assignments to reinforce the learning experience, to benefit the work unit and to provide an opportunity for the mentor to assess performance levels.
• The intern will be responsible for completing all internship-related assignments and reports for the work unit and the participating educational facility.
