The Finance Internship program at Mayo Clinic provides you with an opportunity to enhance your skills while working under the direction of a specific area within the Finance Department: Patient Financial Services, Rochester Financial Analysis, Rochester Materials Management, Data Integrity and Internal Audit.
The mission of the Department of Finance is to be proactive business partners providing world-class financial services for patients, physicians, staff and payors. The department is organized around three key cycles — the financial analysis and accounting cycle; the materials cycle; and the revenue cycle.
The Finance Department provides both direct and indirect services to patients of Mayo Clinic. In the revenue cycle staff interacts with patients to gather insurance information and follow-up on billing matters. The materials cycle provides indirect support to patients by ensuring that supplies necessary for the care of the patients are readily available for staff use. The financial analysis and accounting cycle provides review and analysis of the financial activities of the organization as a whole and the many departments which make up Mayo Clinic Rochester.
