Mayo Clinic seeks diverse candidates from undergraduate and graduate programs across the country. Qualified candidates should be self-motivated, creative, and enrolled in an undergraduate or master's program in one of these fields of study:

  • Exercise Science
  • Health/Wellness Promotion
  • Other related majors

Students should have completed all course work except their internship, or have one semester left following their internship. Experience with fitness testing and program development is preferred.

To apply to either of these internships, see the links at the bottom of this page. At the appropriate prompt during the online application, attach:

  1. A one-page personal statement describing your career objectives and listing pertinent experiences you have had that might interest those considering your application.
  2. Letter of reference from faculty adviser.
  3. Transcripts (a photocopy is acceptable) from all colleges attended.

The applicant is responsible for ensuring that all application materials are complete and are received by Mayo Clinic on or before the deadline for each internship period. The selection committee will not review incomplete applications.
