Opened in 2007, the state-of-the-art Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center's goal is to provide an inclusive wellness experience for Mayo employees.
Mayo Clinic offers unpaid internships for undergraduate students in exercise science, health and wellness promotion, and related fields. Interns gain experience at the Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center (DAHLC) on the Mayo Clinic campus in Rochester, Minn.
The site encompasses more than 115,000 square feet and incorporates state-of-the-art equipment, programs and services. DAHLC serves all Mayo Clinic employees, students, volunteers, retirees, spouses and same-gender domestic partners. Self-motivated and creative students should apply.
All internships must be a minimum of 12 weeks, but may be increased to meet school requirements.
The Health and Wellness Coach Internship at Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center is aimed at providing you with comprehensive hands-on practical and technical experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of all levels of health and wellness programs and services.
Interns will have the opportunity to facilitate lifestyle change through a combination of efforts to enhance awareness, change behavior and create environments that support good health practices using effective wellness coaching and behavioral change strategies.
Specific hands-on experience may be gained in providing comprehensive fitness and wellness evaluations, innovative fitness programming and small group training, one-on-one and small group coaching, and the delivery of comprehensive wellness programs or educational presentations.

The Worksite Wellness Coordinator Internship at Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center is aimed at providing you with comprehensive hands-on practical and technical experience in administering population health programs to enhance the culture of health in the worksite. Interns can enhance their professional development and gain hands-on experience in innovative wellness programming for the employees of Mayo Clinic.
The worksite wellness coordinator intern will gain experience in consultation and project management in the development and evaluation of all levels of health and wellness programs and services. They will help facilitate population lifestyle strategies through a combination of efforts to enhance awareness, change behavior and create environments that support good health practices.
Interns will gain experience in the full delivery of population interventions, including assessment, engagement and marketing, targeted interventions, and supportive environmental and policy strategies to enhance and sustain health.
