The Biostatistics Internship program provides a learning experience during which interns participate in the statistical analysis of on-going research projects conducted at Mayo. This annual summer program begins in late May or early June depending on candidate availability and lasts a minimum of 10 weeks.
During this program you will have an opportunity to enhance your computer and statistical skills while working under the direction of a lead statistician.
The Division of Biomedical Statistics and Informatics is within the Department of Health Sciences Research at the Mayo Clinic. The division has a staff of more than 150 professional statisticians (28 with Ph.D. degrees, 55 with M.S. degrees, 80 with bachelor degrees) and a support staff of 70 programmers. Other divisions in the Department include Epidemiology and Health Care Policy & Research.
This staff collaborates with investigators from almost every medical specialty, with major commitments in such diverse areas as oncology, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, psychology, and epidemiology.
