Biostatistics Internship Program

Claudia

"As a biostatistician, it is exciting to be able to apply statistics to real-world medical research studies."
Claudia, MS Statistician

The Biostatistics Internship program provides a learning experience during which interns participate in the statistical analysis of on-going research projects conducted at Mayo. This annual summer program begins in late May or early June depending on candidate availability and lasts a minimum of 10 weeks.

During this program you will have an opportunity to enhance your computer and statistical skills while working under the direction of a lead statistician.

The Division of Biostatistics is within the Department of Health Sciences Research at the Mayo Clinic. The division has a staff of more than 140 professional statisticians (26 with Ph.D. degrees, 50 with M.S. degrees, 70 with bachelor degrees) and a support staff of 36 programmers. Other divisions in the Department include Epidemiology, Health Care Policy & Research and Medical Informatics Research and Biomedical Informatics.

This staff collaborates with investigators from almost every medical specialty, with major commitments in such diverse areas as oncology, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, psychology, and epidemiology.
