Frequent Questions

What is my role as an Architectural Design summer intern at Mayo Clinic?
Summer interns will have an opportunity to enhance their architectural skills in schematic design, design development, construction documentation, AutoCAD, and drafting tasks while working under the direction of licensed architects. Our staff collaborates with architectural/engineering teams of Facility Project Services which includes professionals from specialty areas such as Interior Design and Furnishings, Construction & Remodeling, Building Design and Engineering. In addition, interns will work with Mayo department proponents (clients) in performing architectural design services.

What will I be expected to wear for the program?
Business attire.

Where and what shift will I be working?
There may be a rotation between inpatient (hospital) and outpatient (clinic) settings on the Mayo Clinic campus in Rochester. Most shifts are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

When does the summer internship program start?
Generally, the internship begins during the first two weeks in June. The starting date can be arranged to accommodate a student's college schedule.
