Inflammatory Breast Cancer

Herceptin Therapy

One out of three breast cancers makes an abnormal amount of a protein known as Her-2-nu. This protein helps to drive the growth of the cancer. A simple test of breast cancer cells can tell if the cancer makes this protein. If it does, a new treatment, Herceptin, is available. Herceptin is a targeted therapy that attacks this abnormal protein.
