Patients with IgA nephropathy are seen within the the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension. The specific specialists involved and the type of evaluation being done will depend upon the problem that the patient is experiencing. Patients usually are seen primarily by a nephrologist who then coordinates patient care and referrals to specialists.
Clinic personnel work with patients to schedule appointments that accomodate their medical and travel needs. Appointments can usually be scheduled within two weeks of the initial request.
Anyone can request an appointment at Mayo Clinic. If a physician referral is required, our appointment staff will advise you. Some insurers require referrals, or may have additional requirements for certain medical care. All appointments are prioritized on the basis of medical need.
