Do you surrender your free will when you're under hypnosis?
Hypnosis allows you to go into a focused state that helps you tap into your inner consciousness. While under hypnosis, you don't lose your personality or free will.

Does the hypnotist control you when you're hypnotized?
A hypnotist is a knowledgeable professional who guides, but does not control, a person's mind.

Do you lose consciousness and have amnesia during hypnosis?
Very few people experience amnesia while in a deep hypnotic state. Most people remember everything that happens during hypnosis.

Can you be put under hypnosis without your consent?
You can't be put in a hypnotic state against your will. For hypnosis to be successful, a person must be motivated to participate. Some people are more likely to benefit from hypnosis than others are.
