Mayo Clinic in Minnesota sees between 400 and 500 patients each year in the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Clinic. Mayo Clinic is one of the largest centers in the world specializing in the treatment of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). More than 1,000 heart surgeries (myectomies) have been performed with excellent results for patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

No physician referral is necessary. Cardiologists generally can see most patients within two weeks after their appointment requests, and often cardiologists can see patients within a week or less after the appointment request. Patients with urgent issues can usually be seen within 24 hours after their requests. In emergencies, patients are directly transferred to inpatient hospital care.
