Arts at the Bedside is a series of programs that engages professional artists directly with patients, exploring the transformative, healing power of the arts.
Visual Art : Professional artists are available to work one-on-one with patients, exploring expression through a variety of media such as watercolors, clay, and colored pencils. This service is provided every Tuesday and Thursday form 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Music: Professional musicians perform short concerts in patient and family lounges on clinic and hospital units. This service is scheduled on selected Mondays from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Creative Writing: Authors and poets visit patients in their rooms to help guide them as they use techniques of poetry, memoir, and journaling to express thoughts and feelings. (Coming soon.)
Harmony for Mayo concerts are performed every Monday from 12:15 p.m. - 1 p.m. at various locations. Indoor concerts are broadcast on patient channel 10.
Creative Renewal workshops occur on the first Thursday of every month from 11 a.m. - Noon in the Cancer Education Center, Gonda Building.
Medicine Goes to the Movies is a quarterly film series that explores medical themes in popular films, followed by discussion.
