Humanities in Medicine - Programs

All programs are open to Mayo Clinic patients, staff, visitors and community members and are made possible by the generous donations of grateful benefactors. Programs include:

Music Performances

Live performances featuring diverse musical selections.

Visual Art Exhibits

Art from around the world - photography, pottery, paintings, drawings, sculptures - that encourage quality of life at all stages of living.

Theater and Dance Events

Live theater or dance performances to inspire or teach or address profound human issues.

Workshops

Participants have an opportunity to reflect, interact and express themselves through varied methods and coping techniques such as art, creative writing, music and relaxation. Workshops are free.

Lectures

Renowned speakers in medical ethics and the arts focusing on numerous topics.

Films - Medicine Goes to the Movies

Medically relevant film series followed by discussions.

Bedside Arts Programs

Programs bring the arts to the bedside of hospitalized patients and closer to the caregivers while extending traditional patient care to offer spiritual and emotional benefits.
