Mayo Clinic Hospice provides professional and compassionate care to terminally ill children and adults. Care is home-based and family-centered.
Hospice recognizes dying as part of the normal process of living, affirms life and therefore neither hastens nor postpones death.
When hospice care becomes the "treatment of choice," there is a change from curative to supportive care measures. The focus becomes the promotion of living as fully and as comfortably as possible.
