Mayo Clinic Hospice

Mayo Clinic Hospice offers home-based, family-centered care for people facing a terminal illness.

Hospice recognizes dying as part of the normal process of living, affirms life and therefore neither hastens nor postpones death. When you choose hospice care, there is a change from curative to supportive care measures. The focus becomes the promotion of living as fully and as comfortably as possible.

Mayo Clinic Hospice is committed to:

  • An interdisciplinary team approach to physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs
  • Pain and symptom management
  • Preparation of you and your family for death at home
  • Bereavement support following death

Mayo Clinic Hospice services are available to anyone with a terminal illness who lives in the following areas:

  • Dodge, Fillmore, Olmsted and Wabasha counties in Minnesota
  • Buffalo and Pepin counties in Wisconsin
  • Parts of Goodhue, Mower and Winona counties in Minnesota, on a case-by-case basis

Hospice care is provided by an interdisciplinary team of professionals that includes doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplains and pharmacists.

Volunteers are a vital part of the team and are available to each hospice family at no charge.

Mayo Clinic Hospice has been accredited by The Joint Commission for all services.

Mayo Clinic Hospice is a provider member of the Minnesota Network of Hospice & Palliative Care and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.
