Mayo Clinic Heritage Days is a time to commemorate and celebrate Mayo's history and heritage, commend staff for their work throughout the year, recognize the vital role volunteers and retirees play at Mayo, and thank our communities for the support they give to patients and staff.
Events in Rochester, Oct. 5-9
Events in Arizona, Oct. 12-16
Throughout our history, the people of Mayo Clinic have taken many "leaps of faith" to overcome challenges, advance medical science, and develop innovative approaches to serve patients. During Heritage Days 2009, we showcase this theme with an original play, "A Leap of Faith," which will be performed on each Mayo Clinic campus.
"A Leap of Faith" takes the audience back to 1883 for a lively give-and-take conversation between Mother Alfred Moes and William Worrall Mayo, M.D., forging the partnership that led to the founding of Saint Marys Hospital.
Funded with a generous gift from benefactors Gerald and Henrietta Rauenhorst, "A Leap of Faith" will share an inspiring message of teamwork, respect and trust — a legacy that we still draw upon to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.
