Hepatitis C

Treatment in Minnesota

Mayo Clinic in Rochester is one of the largest referral centers for liver disease in the world. Combining clinical expertise with established and experimental diagnostic and therapeutic methods, Mayo physicians are able to provide each patient with the most supportive and beneficial care possible.

For people with hepatitis C, Mayo hepatologists tend to pursue an aggressive course of treatment with a full complement of adjunctive therapies to help reduce medication side effects. A dedicated team of liver specialists and advanced practice nurses supports you during and after treatment. If you live outside the area, Mayo physicians can work with your local doctor to set up a treatment program for you. The program provides the same level of care you would receive at Mayo Clinic and is closely supervised by a Mayo hepatologist.

For people with cirrhosis or liver cancer, physicians at Mayo Clinic in Rochester provide a full range of therapies, including novel cancer treatments such as radioembolization.

The clinic's liver transplant program, including living donor, split liver and domino transplants, is one of the world's largest and most successful. Its combination of an integrated team approach to care, highly experienced staff and state-of-the-art facilities allows Mayo Clinic in Rochester to consistently achieve outcomes that far exceed national averages.
