Interventional cardiologists perform heart catheterizations with state-of-the-art equipment in the modern Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Mayo Clinic's Florida campus. In addition to coronary procedures, the lab also performs angiography, angioplasty and stenting for peripheral vascular disease.
The experienced health care team diagnoses and treats each patient based on individual medical needs.
Heart catheterizations are performed by specialists within the Division of Cardiovascular Diseases.
Patients typically must be referred by their primary physicians, or evaluated by a Mayo Clinic cardiologist, before making an appointment for heart catheterization.
