Mayo Clinic Mile
The first official walk on the Mayo Clinic Mile at MOA was held February 26, during the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's 2011 Walk to Cure Diabetes. A team representing Mayo Clinic led walkers around the main level after a ceremonial ribbon cutting.
Stress-Free Zone
Experts from Complementary and Alternative Medicine created a Stress-Free Zone at Mall of America during the heart of the 2010 holiday season. Staff provided free massages, aromatherapy, meditation and yoga demonstrations to holiday shoppers. Visitors learned about healthy ways to manage stress, and the first 100 visitors received a complimentary copy of the recently released "Mayo Clinic Book of Home Remedies."
Children's Health Fair
Mayo Clinic hosted a Children's Health Fair in August 2010. Mayo experts provided educational screenings and information on a variety of topics including allergy education, how your brain works, family history activities, bullying and more. There were also presentations on bike helmet safety, injury prevention and healthy eating.
Running Clinic
Mayo Clinic hosted a Running Clinic at Sears Court on April 10, 2010. The clinic featured experts from the Mayo Sports Medicine Center and Olympic runner Jeff Galloway, and it included presentations on injury prevention and long-distance training as well as gait analysis.
