You can't eat one meal a day & expect to be healthy & lose weight!
You're teaching your body that it needs to hang onto calories because food comes at long intervals.
Eat breakfast, even if it's only a glass of Carnation instant breakfast & a banana. Your body has been without food for about 12 hours and needs something.
Have something for lunch, even just a piece of fruit & cheese.
By eating smaller amounts regularly throughout the day you'll be less hungry and more likely to eat a sensible dinner.

Thanks for all your comments, especially about lifestyle changes. Liz, many different medications can affect weight and to some extent it may vary among individuals. Weight gain is a well known side effect of steroids such as prednisone and tricyclic antidepressants such as amitriptyline. It's possible your medications may be contributing to some weight gain. With antidepressants, it's important to remember that regular physical activity and exercise can not only help prevent weight gain, but exercise is considered a primary treatment of depression and can help people feel better. I am wondering your opinion on the potential for Lexapro to make you gain weight. I have gained a considerable amount of weight since I started taking it last year and even though I have been dieting well and exercising, I can't seem to shake the weight. I also recently started taking VesiCare and have heard that that might be a problem as well. I would really appreciate your feedback on these drugs.
what happened to the diet pills that were prescribed in the 1970's? those worked great for me. i know they r only for very short term use but that's all u needed because they worked. r they still being made and prescribed? one drug was called prelude or preluden.
For me, the most "magical" think that worked was a complete and drastic change in my sedentary lifestyle. Although it was tough, it was worth results.
I used to have 2 small meals in breakfast and dinner, however lunch was always heavier and always had much more protein to compensate for the other two meals. this works well as your body doesn't need much calories in the night and in the mornings your metabolism is low so your calorie burning capacity is low too. However by lunch time your body is much more active and craving for a tummy full of nutritious food. that method really helps.
I think eating less doesn't work for me. Because even if I skipped breakfast and dinner for weeks now, I think my weight is still the same. So I tried taking dieting pills to lose weight. Maybe I will have my luck on this.
