Green beans are also called string beans or snap beans and are one of the most popular vegetables. They are low in calories, are filling and they taste their best when they are thinner than a pencil.

Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 pounds green beans, fresh, frozen or canned
  2. 1/3 cup diced sweet red bell peppers
  3. 4 1/2 teaspoons olive oil or canola oil
  4. 4 1/2 teaspoons water
  5. 1 1/2 teaspoons vinegar
  6. 1 1/2 teaspoons mustard
  7. 1/4 teaspoon salt
  8. 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  9. 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions

Cook beans and red peppers in a steamer basket over water until crisp-tender. Whisk together all remaining ingredients in a small bowl. Transfer beans to a serving bowl. Add dressing and stir to coat.
