Very informative post. However it is also important to remember that healthy eating habits should be incorporated in our everyday lives, and not just the times that we know we will be over indulgent.

A great way to incoporate the right foods into your life is making smoothies out of superfoods. Out of the 14 top superfoods 4 of them include blueberries, walnuts, yogurt and soymilk. A favorite smoothie recipe of mine is blueberries (1 cup), yogurt, soymilk, walnuts and a banana. If we do not incoporate raw foods into our diet (the way we are suppose to eat them) then our diet and health will always be average at best.

Nice post! Thanksgiving should include a little non-guilty indulgence, but slowing down and taking time to savor food and socialize is definitely key! I wrote a post about the importance of slowing down while eating a couple days ago!

I use many easy tips to keep my weight at 107 at 5'2" over the holidays - and I'm 48 years old. I drink a glass of water before eating, and I also try to have a hot beverage with meals because it causes you to slow down your eating and feel satiated more quickly.
