Pregnancy and you: Welcome our new blogger

By Julie A. Lamppa, C.N.M., R.N. January 21, 2015

Hey y'all!

There's a funny thing about accents. I just finished watching the entire Friday Night Lights series and now I can't stop imitating Tammy Taylor. I might forever have a little bit of a Southern girl trapped in this Minnesota girl's body.

Anyway, down to baby business...

Maybe you have visited Mayo Clinic’s pregnancy blog before, maybe not. Regardless, welcome or welcome back! Mary Murry, CNM, has been sharing her wisdom for years — and now the reins have been given to me. I am honored and look forward to the challenge.

As a provider, I have learned that one of the most important parts of my care is to be myself. My no-nonsense, animated approach makes my connections with patients energized, productive, and real. I hope you feel these qualities as we talk through the blog.

Together, we will:

  • Share and listen
  • Commiserate and amuse
  • Support and respect
  • Learn and inform
  • Be thoughtful and insightful

Above all, let's grow our babies healthy and strong without losing our sanity or common sense. Without further delay and in the spirit of blogs, babies and bonding — let's get tapping!
