Consultative and surgical services in Hand Surgery include:
- Hand/elbow/shoulder reconstruction for rheumatoid arthritis
- Arthritic conditions of the upper extremity
- Complex traumatic conditions of the upper extremity (acute and chronic, or residual problems)
- Tendon transfers and soft-tissue reconstruction
- Reconstructive microsurgery
- Peripheral nerve and brachial plexus disorders
- Post-traumatic pain of the upper extremity
- Fractures/dislocations
- Stiffness/contractures/deformities
- Non-unions and malunions of fractures
- Tumors of the upper extremity (including skin cancer and melanoma)
- Complex infectious disorders
- Athletic injuries of the upper extremity
- Spasticity/cerebral palsy
- Vascular/vasospastic disorders
Procedures
The following procedures are offered:
- Endoscopic carpal tunnel release
- Wrist joint replacement (arthroscopy)
- Surface replacement arthroplasty of the interphalangeal and metacarpophalangeal joints (patients must be enrolled in clinical trial)
- Implantable peripheral neurostimulators
