Overview

The Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Mayo Clinic in Florida includes 20 subspecialty physicians, board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, with a broad range of special interests. These physicians evaluate about 5,000 new patients each year. Patients come from North Florida, across the United States and increasingly from around the world.

A full range of endoscopic procedures are done at a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgical center for gastroenterology. At this facility, more than 15,000 outpatient procedures are done annually, including colonoscopy, small bowel enteroscopy, laser endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasonography and photodynamic therapy.

This facility also includes a motility laboratory for esophageal manometry, 24-hour pH testing, gastroduodenal manometry, ambulatory motility recordings and provocative testing for noncardiac chest pain. Gastric acid secretory analysis, pancreatic secretory analysis and evaluation of vagal nerve function can also be done.
