Gallbladder Cancer

Research

Mayo Clinic physicians and scientists involved with gallbladder cancer research seek to decrease the mortality rate by actively pursuing early detection of cancer in patients who are at risk. Currently, research staff at Mayo Clinic are either planning or actively investigating:

  • Optimal radiologic tests to diagnose gallbladder cancer
  • Novel tests on biological specimens to diagnose gallbladder cancers early
  • Novel chemotherapeutic agents
  • Symptomatic treatment for unresectable cancers in patients unable to receive chemotherapy
