Familial Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis

Treatment in Florida

All diagnosis and treatment options described in these pages are available in Florida.

Patients in Florida benefit from being cared for by physicians within the Chronic Kidney Disease Clinic, which was established to help meet the needs and improve the quality of care for the growing numbers of people with chronic kidney disease.

The staff of the Chronic Kidney Disease Clinic believes that having a standardized approach helps patients reap the most benefits from treatment and prepares them for dialysis or kidney transplantation, if those treatments become necessary. The clinic incorporates a team approach to patient care. Teams include a physician, advanced registered nurse practitioners, physician assistants and dietitians, who share the responsibility of helping patients meet treatment goals. Team members work together to make patient visits efficient and complete. Other specialists, such as vascular surgeons or the transplant team, are consulted as needed.
