Familial Cancer Program in Florida

Overview

The Familial Cancer Program at Mayo Clinic in Florida helps identify, educate and treat patients at increased risk for cancer due to hereditary factors. A multispecialty team of Mayo doctors developed the Familial Cancer Program to enhance the coordination of preventive care and treatment for individuals who are at risk for hereditary cancer.

The Familial Cancer Program offers patients:

  • Cancer risk assessment
  • Cancer risk education and counseling
  • Customized screening and prevention options
  • Genetic testing

Patients may also have the opportunity to participate in familial cancer-related research studies designed to improve preventive care and treatment options for genetic cancer.

Familial Cancer Program Evaluation

Patients with the following diagnoses or conditions may benefit from evaluation and treatment in the Familial Cancer Program:

  • Diagnosis of cancer before age 50
  • Diagnosis of several cancers
