Essential Tremor

Overview

Essential tremor is a nervous system (neurological) disorder that causes involuntary shaking (tremors). Your hands often are affected, but other parts of your body also may be affected. Essential tremor isn't caused by other conditions. Essential tremor is the most common type of tremor and is a common movement disorder.
