Eribulin injection is used to treat metastatic (cancer that has already spread to other parts of the body) breast cancer in patients who have already received other types of cancer medicines. Eribulin injection is also used to treat metastatic liposarcoma or liposarcoma that cannot be removed with surgery in patients who have received other types of cancer medicines.
Eribulin belongs to the group of medicines called antineoplastics (cancer medicines). It interferes with the growth of cancer cells, which are eventually destroyed. Since the growth of normal body cells may also be affected by this medicine, other side effects may occur. Some of these may be serious and must be reported to your doctor right away. Some unwanted effects may not be serious but may cause concern. Some of the unwanted effects do not occur until months or years after the medicine is used.
Before you begin treatment with eribulin, you and your doctor should talk about the benefits of this medicine as well as the risks.
This medicine is to be given only by or under the immediate supervision of your doctor.
