When considering a referral to Mayo Clinic Physician Health Center, the first step is recognizing that a physician with performance issues may be experiencing an undiagnosed medical condition. Once the first call is made, Mayo Clinic staff obtain initial information critical for case management and coordinate additional previsit interviews with the physician being referred.
Based on the information gathered during the previsit interviews, a customized itinerary is designed. Once the appointments have been arranged, the employer or referring personnel manager is contacted periodically to be updated on the progress of the assessment, provided authorization is given.
