Medications you take to suppress your immune system following a solid organ transplant often can result in changes to your skin, hair, teeth, fingernails and toenails. People undergoing cancer treatments can experience similar cosmetic side effects. These changes can affect your emotional state and physical well-being.

Mayo Clinic Erickson Hair & Skin Care Center provides an encouraging and friendly environment where you can receive free, personalized consultations regarding skin care and hair alternatives. The confidential and discreet consultations take place in a private fitting area. Mayo Clinic Erickson Hair & Skin Care Center also offers classes, educational materials, skin care products and head coverings (wigs, scarves and caps).

Charlie O. Erickson's generosity and Rochester Methodist Hospital Auxiliary's leadership are responsible for creating and maintaining the center. Cosmetologists and auxiliary volunteers staff Mayo Clinic Erickson Hair & Skin Care Center.

Mayo Clinic Erickson Hair & Skin Care Center is open 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Central time, Monday through Friday. Mayo Clinic Erickson Hair & Skin Care Center is closed on clinic holidays and occasionally for administrative purposes.

Appointments

People who have appointments receive priority. You may visit the center without an appointment anytime during regular business hours. Please allow a minimum of 45 minutes for a consultation.

To get to Mayo Clinic Erickson Hair & Skin Care Center from Saint Marys Hospital, you may take the Mayo Clinic patient shuttle to Rochester Methodist Hospital. The shuttle bus leaves from the west entrance of Saint Marys Hospital. Upon request, the driver will take you to the east entrance of Rochester Methodist Hospital, where the center is located. Wheelchair service is available in all clinic and hospital buildings.
