At Mayo Clinic in Minnesota:

  • Mayo Clinic doctors perform more than 2,800 standard electroencephalogram (EEG) procedures and more than 1,700 video-EEG procedures each year to evaluate adults for epilepsy.
  • Mayo Clinic doctors perform more than 800 standard EEG procedures and more than 800 video-EEG procedures each year to evaluate children for epilepsy.
  • Mayo Clinic doctors perform more than 80 epilepsy surgeries for adults and children each year.
  • Approximately 70 percent of people who have epilepsy surgery remain nearly or completely seizure-free after surgery.
