The health care team that supports the Epilepsy Program at Mayo Clinic in Florida provides compassionate, coordinated and individualized care for adults with a known or suspected seizure disorder or epilepsy.
Many health care professionals contribute their expertise to the care of each patient, including an epileptologist (a specialist from Neurology with expertise in diagnosing and treating epilepsy), a neurosurgeon who specializes in treating epilepsy, and an epilepsy nurse specialist. Specialists from Neuroradiology, Neuropsychiatry and Psychiatry and a social worker also may participate in a patient's care.
