Custodian

Custodians clean and maintain assigned areas such as offices, conference rooms, laboratories, and patient exam rooms on a daily basis. The job requires standing and walking and moderate lifting. There will be some work at elevated levels such as the hanging of curtains and high dusting from ladders. Custodians are responsible for waste removal and the overall maintenance and upkeep of all flooring types, which includes carpet, vinyl, and ceramic tile. Other duties include construction clean-up, furniture moves, and set-ups.

The job will be somewhat routine with some repetitive tasks on a continuous basis. Individuals must be able to adapt to a changing workload. There is alternate scheduling for evening hours. Employees are required to wear a uniform.

Housekeeper

Housekeepers clean and maintain assigned areas such as offices, patient rooms, conference rooms and laboratories on a daily basis. They also perform various tasks required in the distribution and storage of linen. The job requires standing and walking and moderate lifting. There will be some work at elevated levels such as the hanging of curtains and high dusting from ladders.

The job will be somewhat routine with some repetitive tasks on a continuous basis. Individuals must be able to adapt to a changing workload. There are a number of schedules and shifts for day and evening hours. Employees are required to wear a uniform.

Janitor/Houseperson

Janitors are responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of all flooring types including carpet, vinyl, and ceramic tile. Janitors must not be afraid to get their hands dirty because trash is an everyday occurrence that must be handled properly (gloves are provided). Other duties include construction clean up, transporting of equipment and/or beds to various sites in the hospital depending on customer requests, furniture moves, and conference room set-ups.

The job will be somewhat routine with some repetitive tasks on a continuous basis. Individuals must be able to adapt to a changing workload. There are a number of schedules and shifts for day and evening hours. Employees are required to wear a uniform.
