Referring a Patient - Outpatient

Direct line to the appointment secretaries within the Endocrinology Division.

Patients may be referred for a full evaluation or for consultation limited to one of the subspecialty clinics within Endocrinology.

This answering service will record the information. Appointment secretaries will call the referring physician (or physician's office) back between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Central Time

Referring a Patient - Inpatient

Endocrinology appointment secretaries will connect the referring physician with the Endocrinology on-call physician to arrange the hospital transfer.

Mayo Clinic Operator

During working hours, the operator can contact the endocrinologist on-call or any other specialty that the referring physician needs. In emergency situations during off-hours, the clinic operator will assist in dealing with the situation.

24 hours per day, 7 days per week
Direct line to Mayo Emergency Communications Center which can connect the referring physician to a Mayo Emergency/Trauma Unit staff physician and can dispatch Gold Cross (ground ambulance), Mayo One (helicopter ambulance), or Mayo Air (fixed wing air ambulance) as needed.
